With this type of project in our community, our people will know what government is about” said by Chief Ajomole.
The people listed the benefits of the skill acquisition centre to include increasing the population of the area, increasing their economic power and the internally generated revenue of the community people will come from other com munities or local governments to acquire one skill or the other which will make the population of the village to increase and thereby increase the market of the people. Other development will also be attached to it among others.
The centre has more sections than any other skill acquisition centre in the state and well equipped with sections like fashion design, hair dressing, barbing, tie and dye, shoe making, carpentry among others.
Olu of Ilado said the completion of the centre has brought a definite reduction in the level of poverty that was raging especially at the grassroots, saying the centre is at an advantage to all categories of people irrespective of their qualifications.
He also expressed appreciation to the Ondo State Government that initiated and gave the programme enabling environment to thrive by paying their counterpart fund.
He said the Agency staff are well trained and do not collect gratifications from any community but want the best for them through the facilitation and supervision of the project.
On the maintenance and sustainability of the centre, Chief Ajomole said his community is fully aware that the project belong to them and is fully prepared to ensure that it is maintained perfectly. “My community members are aware that it is their project and will do everything possible to ensure it is sustained. This project is a community Baby and you will agree with me that when a woman gives birth to a baby and kills the baby,we call such woman a psychiatry patient not fit to born” added Chief Ajomole.
He said the project has opened the eyes of his people to the need to pay taxes and that it will affect the voting power of about eight thousand residents of the community in the next election. “My people now know that if they pay their taxes and levies to the government, this is the part of the gains.
