World Bank Extends Closing Date for CSDP

The World Bank has approved the extension of closing date for the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) earlier scheduled for 30 June 2020 to a new date of 30th September, 2020.  The World Bank Task Team Leader, (TTL) for the CSDP, Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa who disclosed this in a mail to the National Coordinator, Dr Abdulkarim Obaje, said the approval is now captured in the World Bank system.
It will be recalled that the Federal Government had written to the World Bank, requesting an extension in the closing date of CSDP and YESSO, citing the COVID -19 pandemic as reason for the request.
Reacting to the approval, the NC, Dr Abdullarim Obaje called on CSDP staff to redouble their efforts so that the project would close on a sound footing.
“This is like offering us another lifeline to ensure we speed up implementation and do what is right to finish very strong and be part of the Nigeria Cares Project” Obaje said.
