National Coordinator Celebrates Democracy Day, Calls CSDP Staff Heroes of Nigerian Democracy

The National Coordinator CSDP, Dr. Abdulkarim Obaje sends his heartfelt congratulations to staff of the CSDP on Nigeria's Democracy Day celebration. “Democracy Day calls for deep reflection on our journey as a nation, commitment and vision of our current, past leaders, founding fathers and all those who worked to sustain our democracy and its dividends.

A statement by the Information and Communication Officer of CSDP,  Suleiman Odapu, quotes the National Coordinator of CSDP,  Dr Abdulkarim Obaje as saying, " For us at CSDP, this occasion presents to us an opportunity to recognize and thank staff of CSDP, all participating LGAs, members of Community Project Management Committees (CPMC) and Group Project Management Committees (GPMC) who represent another block of democratic institutions set up to bring development to poor communities and vulnerable groups. In fact, the CDD model which we practice does not only enshrine participatory democracy it also promotes participatory governance, the highest form of democracy”

COVID-19 may have slowed down activities globally, the FPSU however, has continued to lead CSDP to use technology to navigate the situation.
“The Webinar Meetings hosted by the FPSU have restored confidence in the system and increased activities despite the lockdown. I therefore call on State Agencies to continue to follow this path of using technology where possible to deliver services to our stakeholders.  For us at the FPSU, you are the heroes of our Democracy. Obaje said.
Once again, Happy Democracy Day and please stay Safe.
