One of the paramount Traditional Rulers in the State of Osun, His Royal Highness Oba Abdul Rashid Olabomi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji led a team of 20 Traditional Leaders often referred to as ‘Baales’ in local Yoruba language and Three High Chiefs to the State Agency for Community and Social Development Project (Osun CSDP) to garner support for communities within his jurisdiction.
The General Manager, Osun CSDP, Mrs. Funmi Abokede warmly welcomed the Royal Father and his entourage and used the occasion to sensitize the team on the operational procedure of the agency.
In his reaction, the Traditional Ruler, made it known that He and His Team came on behalf of over Sixty Communities that are within His Royal Authority. He revealed that Iragbiji is one of many communities within the state that are yet to have noticeable impacts of governments and as such pleaded with the General Manager to give priority attention to Iragbiji land in the scheme of things.
Mrs. Funmi Abokede responding to the request promised to do whatever within her capacity to assist the communities but went further to reiterate the fact that communities are the drivers of the process of interventions and that Osun CSDP is just to act as midwife in the process. She therefore solicited that His Royal Highness mobilized the various communities under him to express their interest and work together as individual communities to contribute and raise the needed ten percent of each of the projects they might eventually and unanimously chosen in the nearest future.
The Kabiyesi, Oba Rasheed Olabomi used the occasion to release Royal Blessings on the management and staff of the State Agency as gifts from the throne.
