The training of Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) staff at this period will equip the participants with the requisite set skills and knowledge to perform optimally in the proposed CARES Nigeria Project. This was the central message of the National Coordinator of CSDP, Dr. Abdulkarim Obaje to the participants of the three Cross Cutting trainings going on concurrently in Minna, Ibadan and Lokoja. The Training is organized by the Federal Project Support Unit (FPSU) and facilitated by reputable Training firms.
In Minna, at the “Office Registry and Records Management” Training, the National Coordinator who was represented by the Head of Operations, Mr Wale Fabowale, told the participants that the Training would enhance their capacities to implement projects and even other endeavors that benefits the country.
Representative of the NC at the Ibadan Centre of the Cross-cutting trainings, Head of Monitoring, and Information Management, Mr Niyi Oduneye, also called on the participants to be attentive as lessons learnt will benefit them beyond the CSDP project. The Ibadan Centre is hosting the Procurement and Audit trainings.
At the Lokoja Training on “Thinking Course” for the Project Drivers, the NC’s message was read by the Environmental and Social Safeguard Specialist, Ovede Otite.
The National Coordinator’s message specifically appreciated the Task Team Leader of CSDP at the World Bank, Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa for granting No Objection for the Cross-Cutting Trainings.
Participants of the Cross-cutting trainings are drawn from the 30 participating states including the FCT.
The trainings are conducted following strict compliance of the NCDC COVID-19 protocols of social and physical distance, washing of hands, using of hand sanitizers and use of face mask. A brief note on COVID-19 pandemic was presented to participants. Face Mask and Hand sanitizers were presented to participants.

Oyo state government under the able leadership of his excellency, engr. Seyi makinde, has approved the release of n72 million for oyo state community and social development agency (oycsda) for the improvement of living standard in the rural communities.
According to the agency board chairman, hon. Ahmed babatunde esuola, “i wish to announce that the state government, under the able leadership of engr. Seyi makinde has approved the n72 million government contribution for Oyo CSDA for the replications of CSDP in the state pending the commencement of cares project of which csda has been identified as a reliable platform for the implementation of the new projects”.
