Eleshinmeta Community is located at Ilorin East Local Government of Kwara State with Fulani settlements surrounded by it. The Community benefited from Completion of Health center, Construction of Staff Quarters and Erosion Control.
Since the intervention has taken place the members of Community has been experiencing reduction in trekking distance covered to other communities to enjoy health facility in the past. The Health center is well equipped and experienced health personnel in place to take good care of the sick people in the Community.
Ever before the intervention of Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency (KWCSDA), Itamerin community environment was an eyesore with heaps of dump sites and human faeces littering the immediate environment, resulting from people’s defecations openly on and around the dung hills, due to the fact that most people does not possess toilet facilities at their various comfort zones, for the ease of cohabitates. They also trek long a long distance before they are able to get water to drink and for domestic purposes.
Kwara CSDP has gotten new General Manager in person of Engr. Mrs. Haruna Amamat Oluwatoyin. She was born on 14th of April 1972. She attended Wesley LSMB primary school Offa 1984, Offa Community Secondary School 1990, graduated in 1999 from Bayero University, Kano where she studied civil engineering. She had her Masters degree in civil engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2014. She is a registered Engineer with NSE and COREN.
She has worked as a construction manager with Said Devcom LTD Kaduna, supervising Engineer with Eco System Consult LTD Kaduna. She was formerly the Operations Manager of Kwara state community and social Development Agency before her appointment as the General Manager. She is a member, Food and Agricultural committee Nigerian Society of Engineer Abuja. Chairman Association of Professional Women Engineer of Nigeria, Kaduna chapter 2014 to 2016.
Nine communities and two gender and vulnerable groups in Kwara State are to benefit N27million World Bank assisted micro projects.
The Community Development Projects (CDPs) are to be funded by the Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency (KWCSDA).
The communities are Irapa, Omugo, Oyatedo, Oke-Oyan and Aireke-Ilupeju, all in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
Others are Gaa Uthman in Ilorin East LGA; Tanke Iledu, Ilorin South LGA, Olugbense and Ajoni-Olalomi in Offa Local Government Area.
The benefitting gender and vulnerable groups are Love and Care group in Ilorin, the state capital and Iyeru Okin in Offa.
This was disclosed by the General Manager of the agency, Engr.(Mrs) Amamat Oluwatoyin Haruna, at the presentation of cheques for the first tranche of payment to three communities, in Oyatedo, on Friday.
She noted that the beneficiaries are the 10th batch communities and 2nd batch of gender and vulnerable groups to enjoy the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) since inception of the additional financing.
Haruna added that a total of 149 communities across the 16 Local Government Areas in the state have so far benefited from the CSDP since commencement of additional funding.
According to her, the state government through KWCSDA has drawn down a total sum of N1.3billion with over N801million disbursed to communities since 2016 to date.
“234 micro-projects have so far been completed and in use while 45 are ongoing across the poverty focal of Local Governments in the state,” she further said.
The GM, however, explained that the approved CDPs under the scheme are to be funded in the ratio of 90% by the agency and 10% by the communities while for Group Development Plans(GDP) the ratio is 95 percent by KWSCDA and 5 percent by the gender and vulnerable groups.
Kwara State Government through Community Development Agency received 36 million Naira to commence their various micro project implementation. Some of the benefitting communities and groups are Irapa, Gaa-Uthman, Omugo, Tanke-Iledu, Oyatedo, Oke-Oyan, Aireke-Ilupeju, Olugbense, Ajoni-Olalomi, Love and Care group and Iyeru-Okin School for Special Needs. The fund disbursed served as the first tranches to kick start implementation of their first approved priority micro projects.
The Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency in her effort to penetrate more Communities and Groups within the State, disbursed funds to more Communities and Groups within the State. The benefitting Communities and Groups are Jokolu, Tanke-Ajanaku, Ikhwah, Atanda, Sabo, Egosi-Ile, Okesuna, Dada, Gaa Ayede, Kajola, Akorede, Oloje, Bokungi, Olalomi Group, Opeloyeru Group, Ojukoju Group and Sokodebawu all from Ilorin South, Ifelodun, Ilorin-West, Edu, Offa and Kaiama Local Government Areas.
The Federal Project Support Unit (FPSU) of the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) carried out a workshop to build the capacity of staff on environmental and social safeguards. The workshop was carried out between 16th and 21st of March, 2020 and the participants were divided into 2 batches
