What it takes to solve an age-long problem, at times, is just a strip of well-directed effort.
CSDP intervention has alleviated the Edo State communities’ lack of access to this important social infrastructure called electricity. Egboha community had suffered low voltage and relatively higher number of hours of darkness because the existing transformer they had was not adequate for its increasing population.
Abiala is a riverine community in Ikpoba Okha Local Government. It is situated several kilometers away from the mainland.
Ogwa is a community in Esan West Local Government of Edo State. For years, they have suffered for lack of clean portable water.
Imiomuza community in Esan North East Local Government of Edo State had dilapidated secondary school classroom blocks which constituted danger to the students and their teachers.
Absence of social infrastructures in the local communities is a major reason for rural poverty and rural-urban migration. Ogugu village exemplifies this grim fact. Ogugu is a village in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. It lays a good eight kilometres off the trunk B-road that cuts across the Local Government from Auchi to Okene. Ordinarily, the journey between the trunk B-road and Ogugu should not take more than 5 minutes. But the journey is rendered tortuous by the poor state of the road and takes not less than 30 minutes.
