CRSCSDA DISBURSES OVER 238MILLION TO 41 INDIGENT COMMUNITIES IN CROSS RIVER STATE

The Government of Cross River State under the able leadership of His Excellency Senator (Prof) Benedict Ayade has through the Cross River State Community and Social Development Agency (CRSCSDA) disbursed over 238 million naira as grants to 41 indigent communities in the State. The release of these monies is one of the various mechanisms of government to transform the State and bridge the gap between government and the governed. Specifically, the disbursement seeks to improve access of the poor and vulnerable to social and natural resource infrastructure services and a conscious attempt by government to strengthen the fight against poverty and the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

But access to it has remained a mirage in many cases especially among the poor and vulnerable, most of them living in the hinterland and below the poverty threshold. Overtime, development models adopted by government have against expectations widen the gap between the government good intention and the reality of benefits on the life of the targeted beneficiary.
