BUMOUNDI COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE: Bumoundi Community is in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The community is an agrarian community with enlighten and hardworking population. Bumoundi community is known to have housed several hamlets following availability of basic social amenities that were provided in the early 70's and 80’s. However, following corrosion and decay of some of these amenities including the community Health Centre, the community has been left without a functional building for health workers to carry out their primary assignment effectively. With the inception of Bayelsa State Community and Social Development Project as supported by the Governor Henry Seriake Dicskon led Restoration Government, the good people of Bumoundi Community, cease the opportunity to bring alive the provision of a functional health systems. With the construction and completion of the community Health Centre, health workers are excited carrying out their duties in health care service delivery. The functionality of the project in the community has resulted to the following intermediate outcomes; reduction in maternal/child mortality, improved pre-natal and post-natal conditions, reduction in distance /time taken to health facilities.
